Dear Board Members,

I am writing in support of the Missouri River Drug Task Force (MRDTF) Justice Assistance Grant Application as a member of Bozeman Elks Lodge #463 and community advocate for substance abuse prevention.

In the Executive Summary of the 2020 DEA National Drug Threat Assessment, I read that trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs continues to inflict harm upon individuals, families, and communities throughout the United States.

Since 1990, MRDTF has demonstrated a strong commitment in combatting drug-related trafficking, manufacturing, and violence.

Their efforts have included building partnerships with public health officials, educators, and community advocates to overcome this public health crisis.

We appreciate their efforts to educate the community about prescription drug abuse, synthetic opioids such as fentanyl, and their participation in DEA’s Drug Take-Back Days in Gallatin County.

Respectfully yours,

Rick Gale, Trustee
