Public Service is an Integral Part of Being an Elk

Fraternal organizations have a storied and prominent place in the history and development of the United States.  Some of these organizations you may be familiar with include the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, Lions Club, and Rotary Club who continue to serve as charitable institutions and social centers.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) is a nationwide fraternal organization of nearly one million men and women in over 2,000 Lodges in communities across our country. Their organization was founded on the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love, fidelity, and belief in God.

Bozeman Elks Lodge #463 has contributed over 17 million dollars in monetary terms and in-kind voluntary hours of their time since its founding in 1898.

Public service is an integral part of being an Elk.  In keeping with this tradition, Elks create and participate in programs that better the community.  They are focused on youth programs, veterans, and improving community life.

During the past several years, Bozeman Elks Lodge #463 has hosted special events, programs, and partnered with other fraternal and service organizations:

American Legion Memorial Day Parade, Flag Day, Elks Drug Awareness Program, Hope Ride for Critically ill Children, Hope & The Holidays, HRDC – Fork & Spoon, Gallatin County Food Bank, Kids Christmas Day, Honoring First Responders, Most Valuable Student Scholarships, National DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back Days, POW/MIA Remembrance Day, Prescription Drug Take-Back Boxes, Project Homeless Connect,  Southwest Montana Veterans Cemetery, Veteran Homelessness, Veterans Alliance of Southwest Montana, Warriors & Quiet Waters, Youth Hockey Programs, and most recently the Bozeman Public Library Open Door Program.

As you can see, Elks Care and Elks Share.
